ASEAN green award
THE general manager of Dusit Thani, Chatchawal Supachayanont, received the ASEAN green recognition award from Dr Suvit Yodmani, minister of tourism and sports. The award is an appreciation of the hotel?s efforts to conserve the environment through strict in-house programmes.

AS ROGER Crutchley noted in the Bangkok Post, foreigners even complain that they can't find anything to complain about. Unfortunately, living in Pattaya gives a lot of scope for complaint. So, if for no other reason than to blow off steam, I offer you this story.

ONE fine autumn day in 1916, early in the morning, a man emerged from a foxhole in Northern France. He ran a few metres through a hail of bullets and was immediately hit by shrapnel from an artillery shell exploding nearby He fell, injured and bleeding, into a watery shell crater in no man?s land.
